Wedding reception decor ideas

The linens are the foundation of your table and create the look at your reception. The other decor details such as centerpieces, lighting, candles and other pieces help create the scene.

Choose linens in your wedding accent colors; they don't have to be white. Muted colors are very popular: Champagne, blush or ecru for the base layer.

For a more luxurious look, choose an overlay fabric to place on top of your heavy base linen to accent your table. For example, accent the Champagne linens with bold and bright colorful overlays. For an elegant evening look, use a black cloth, then top it with an overlay of shiny gold or sequins.

If you can't afford specialty linens for every table, put them on the head table, check-in and cake tables. It will give a beautiful visual punch to those tables that are noticed -- and photographed -- by everyone.

Ask your caterer to rent the tablecloths for you as they have access to specialty linen companies who have huge inventories of linen styles and colors.

If you want to rent them yourself, check with South Sound linen rental companies such as CORT Party Rentals or other companies that rent linens. West Sound brides visit Kitsap Chair Covers.

Be sure the linens are ironed and / or steamed. You don't want to see wrinkled linens! Also be sure to order the right size, so they touch the ground to cover the table legs.
