Destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta

Beachside wedding in Mexico

WHO: Jordan Snyder and Adam Moll
VENUE: Las Caletas, 30 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

SEASON: Fall
COLORS: Burnt orange, white, chartreuse (flowers), and aqua (invitations and the ocean)
DÉCOR: White paper parasols brought from home were propped in the rocks along the beach.

“Las Caletas is one of my favorite places in the world,” says Jordan. “I loved all the parrots and monkeys.”

Maracas placed on chairs at the ceremony had a tag that read, in English and Spanish: “Make some noise at the kiss.” Also included on the tag were favorite song lyrics of the couple: “Love, love, love … All you need is love” by John Lennon.

The back of the tag thanked family and friends for attending and honored late family members.

UNIQUE TOUCHES: A mariachi band greeted guests as they arrived at the ceremony.

Guests wrote messages on the back of the pieces of a custom jigsaw puzzle that included the couple’s initials and wedding date.

The bridal suite was a thatched roof casita with a soaking tub and a hammock at the top of the hill.

SPECIAL MOMENTS: During the wedding, waves crept up and washed over the feet of the bridal party and a few guests.

At the reception, fire dancers, dressed in traditional Mayan costumes, put on a show for the guests.

GREEN: At night the venue was lit by thousands of tea lights and a bonfire, so little electricity was used.

FAVORS: Small tins filled with margarita-flavored jellybeans, sunscreen lip balm, gum and a guest reference guide titled “Eat. Drink. Explore,” which highlighted the couple’s favorite restaurants, shopping hot spots, adventures and day trips.

Jordan and Adam hail from Tacoma, WA.
