Elegant wedding at Port Gamble

On a lovely August day, Alyssa and Tim exchanged vows in a ceremony they described as “classy, elegant, and captivating."

While emphasizing the beauty of the season with central floral arrangements, Alyssa and Tim were also very intentional with their budget. “A great DJ, photographer, and florist . . . were more important to us, says Alyssa.” The South Sound couple spent a great deal of time researching vendors that fit their budget and their vision.

VENUES: St. Paul’s Church, Port Gamble (ceremony) and Kitsap Golf and Country Club, Bremerton (reception).

DECOR: Inspired by an English garden, flowers enhanced the simple beauty of the two venues. Rose petals lined the aisle during the ceremony, while sprigs of lavender were added to each glass of champagne.

Turquoise and purple, the wedding colors, were incorporated into the chair sashes. A sign with the bride and groom’s names and the reception hall’s crystal chandelier rounded out what the bride called “a natural look with simplicity and sophistication.”

UNIQUE TOUCHES: Rather than giving guests favors, the couple opted to add personal touches like lavender in the champagne and placing disposable cameras at each table.

SPECIAL TOUCHES: After the ceremony, the newlyweds rang the Port Gamble church bell to announce their marriage.
