DIY wedding bouquet

Create your own bridal bouquet

Supplies: Flowers (for an 8-inch bouquet you need 30-60 stems), ribbon, florist tape, wire

Prepare: Choose and prepare flowers (for information on how to do this, see our Floral Arrangements article)

Design: Consider the color, variety, and texture of the flowers you selected and have a clear idea of what you want the bouquet to look like before you start

Making the bouquet: Place five or six attractive stems at an even height and secure with florist tape to form the top of a domed arrangements.

  • Hold securely with one hand and add stems, rotating the bouquet to evenly distribute them around the center.
  • Arrange flowers so that the larger, more prominent blooms are on the outside, anchored by smaller flowers toward the center.
  • Secure everything with florist tape and wire, then cover with a wide satin ribbon to finish the look.

Get creative: Add greenery, feathers, gems, or other materials for a personal and unique bouquet.
