“Butterflies have always symbolized happiness to me, so we thought they would be perfect to integrate into the wedding décor and flowers,” says Heather.
WHO: Heather and Ross
VENUE: Alderbrook Resort & Spa
COLORS: Blush pink, fuchsia, lavender, taupe and khaki
DÉCOR: Heather planned their wedding with touches of “romance, class and modern whimsy.”
Aqua mason jars held pink peonies for the ceremony. Heather made all of the stationery, except the invitations. A thank-you card was placed at each guest’s place setting at the reception.
UNIQUE TOUCHES: Heather’s bouquet included her late great-grandmother’s rosary. The couple’s wedding bands were custom-designed.
Their dog, a 14-pound Alaskan klee kai, participated in the ceremony.
The groom’s cake was made to look like a Lamborghini. “He’s a big car guy, so it was really important for me to be able to showcase Ross in the middle of this pink wedding,” says Heather.
SPECIAL MOMENTS: Each person walked down the aisle to a different piece of music. Ross walked partway with the dog to the tune of “Then” by Brad Paisley. Heather followed, walking halfway to “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood. When Heather met Ross with the dog, they walked the rest of the way to “Marry Me” by Train. “It was important to us to walk this way, and it was my favorite part of our wedding,” says Heather.
FAVORS: Guests enjoyed a candy buffet. Ross and Heather made a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
