Catering association features specialty foods

The South Puget Sound (Tacoma) chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) meetings monthly.
At our recent NACE meeting, hosted by Occasions Catering & Special Events in Olympia, our guest speaker, Shelly Pierpoint, spoke about gluten-free foods. Shelly wrote a book about gluten-free foods.

She described her personal experience with the foods, and educated chapter members about all the foods that have gluten in them. Also present at the meeting was Joe, owner of GF (Gluten-Free) Joe's in Olympia.

Occasions presented an entire gluten-free meal including appetizers and a fabulous dessert.

As more people are discovering they need to eat gluten-free foods, caterers need to know how to prepare foods for that type of special diet.
