I met the owner, Lara, at the Tacoma chapter meeting of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) this summer. She offered to stop by with her food samples: carrot cake, macaroons, brownies, and cookies. How could I resist that offer? Rachael and I gladly sampled all baked foods. While I believe I have the best carrot cake recipe ever, I have to say that Granny LaLa's carrot cake was exquisite: moist, very flavorful, and it had an even texture.
